Inventory Support Officer
About the Role
Mackay Sugar is seeking an Inventory Support Officer to join our Procurement team. Reporting to the Inventory Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting daily warehouse operations, inventory control, data entry, stocktaking, Rotable (service exchange) equipment management and vendor-managed inventory processes across multiple sites. This role requires effective communication skills between internal teams and suppliers, proficiency in using digital systems and strong skills in task scheduling and document reporting. The position combines a significant office-based administrative segment as well as on-site operational support across multiple locations.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP highly regarded

Current Forklift License preferred & a unrestricted “C” class driver’s license essential

Comfortable working both independently and within a dedicated team environment

Strong verbal and written communications and professional interaction skills

Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies to ensure continuous data accuracy.
Key Responsibilities

Work with Procurement & Contracts to ensure top-tier service
-
Manage and optimize stock levels for operational efficiency with support from the Inventory Coordinator
-
Lead rotable equipment activities and documentation, monitoring serial-numbered components to ensure safety and regulatory compliance, ensuring regular cycle counts are actioned for inventory reconciliation purposes

Monitoring and actioning replenishment accuracy of Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) across multiple sites, establish a strong supplier buyer relationship, issuing Purchase Orders to VMI

Provide general support and cover when required to assist warehousing teams including receipting stock, inventory updates, and counter service for internal customers

Freight cost reconciliation and internal coding

Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies to ensure continuous data accuracy.

Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels and monitor expiry dates across various storage locations with support from the Inventory Coordinator

Lead stocktaking program across Mackay Sugar sites with support from the Inventory Coordinator

Conduct regular physical stock checks and cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies
-
Oversee monthly recurring inventory tasks, including purchase order creation

Effectively handle urgent, ad-hoc requests at multiple production sites
-
Assist the Inventory Coordinator in managing total stock profile and master data
