Fairfield City Council manages a variety of children and family services, including long day care, preschool, family day care, supported playgroups, early intervention services and family support services. Strong networking opportunities and support exist for educators who work within our services, as do internal opportunities for skills development and career progression across service types. The Fairfield City Best Start Education & Care Unit is strongly committed to providing opportunities for professional development, including a leadership program for emerging directors, study support, including study leave and reimbursement and secondments across the services. Comprehensive training plans to suit individuals are also available and consistent support from the Management Team.
Fairfield City Council has fantastic opportunities for you to work with experienced professionals while gaining or increasing your qualification. The role is for a period of up to 18 months for a Certificate III traineeship and 24 months for a Diploma traineeship. You will combine work and training opportunities to gain a Certificate III or Diploma of Early Childhood Education & Care through TAFE NSW.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
ESSENTIAL:
- Be self-motivated, enthusiastic, reliable and have a strong work ethic.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Have the ability to work as part of a team.
- Have a ‘can do’ attitude and drive to succeed.
- Demonstrate a commitment to study and course completion.
- Must be able to work rosters between 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday.
- Must be a permanent resident and over 18 years of age (legislative requirement).
- Have a current driver’s licence or have access to own transport.
- Hold a current Working with Children Check Number.
SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
- 4x temporary full-time positions (periods up to 18 months for a Certificate III and up to 24 months for a Diploma), 76 hours per fortnight.
- These positions are paid under the Traineeship Wage Rates; the salary is $838.00 per week.
