We are seeking to engage an experienced Stonemason with an understanding of the installation and fabrication of various materials. This role is responsible for all aspects of stone installation including but not limited to gluing, polishing, lifting, modifying, cutting, shaping and repairing of a wide range of material and colors from marble and granite to engineered stone such as Caesarstone, Quantum Quartz, and Smart Stone. Qualification Requirements:
· Must have a minimum of 3 years of demonstrated work experience in building material processing or manufacturing industry with a solid understanding and practical working knowledge of Sintered stone, quartzite slabs, zero silica quartz, natural stone, porcelain slabs, clearance slabs for benchtops, splashbacks, walls and floors.
· Having international work experience is preferred.
· Strong communication skills required, including proficiency in Mongolian and English is preferred.
· Construction White Card is preferred.
· Experience operating CNC waterjets and bridge saws is highly desirable.
· Ability to read plans and measurements accurately.
· Confidence and determination in problem solving to derive innovative solutions.
Roles and Responsibility:
This position will be responsible for installing, cutting, pre-cutting and shaping all kinds of masonry slabs, hard and soft stone blocks AUSK provides for our clients. Construct and renovate stone structures for kitchen benchtops for residential projects and also other premium stone materials for commercial projects. Relevant duties include but not limited to followings:
· Understanding and interpreting architectural drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Planning the materials, dimensions arrangement and cutting patterns and procedures for stone slabs or tiles to minimize waste and achieve the desired visual effect.
· Set up or dismantle scaffolding according to the actual situation at the construction site.
· Building structures by carefully setting stones in place according to plans, using mortar or other bonding agents. Checking vertical and horizontal alignment to make it aesthetically pleasing for clients. Ensuring proper alignment, leveling, and grouting of stone installations.
· Construct structural walls, retaining walls, garden walls, cladding with marble, granite, stone slabs and large masonry slab blocks.
· Fabrication of stone benchtops at kitchen including cutting, polishing, honing, flaming, joining, bush-hammered, sandblasted and installing.
· Be responsible for prepare the base and bedding course, followed by the installation of segmental paving for patios, walkways, driveways, and interior flooring.
· Mixing mortar to the correct consistency and applying it effectively to bond stones securely and durably.
· Follow workplace health and safety procedures, including dust control, PPE requirements and safe handling of heavy stone materials.
· Studying all pertinent instructions before starting the installation on scoping installation areas to determine their appropriateness.
· Positioning products according to stipulated specifications, environmental features, and clients’ requests.
· Measuring, cutting, and installing various types of stone, including granite, marble, limestone, and engineered stone, on surfaces such as floors, walls, countertops, and facades.
· Transport stone panels safely using vacuum lifters and lifting equipment; dry-fit all stone pieces to check alignment, level and gaps before permanent fixing.
· Apply structural adhesive, silicone sealant and metal brackets to secure stone; align and glue stone seams; grind and polish joint lines to create smooth invisible finishes.
· Install waterproof membranes under stone in wet areas; fill gaps with matching grout; apply penetrating stone sealers to protect stone from water stains, dirt and chemical damage.
· Trim excess stone edges with grinders on site; fix small chips, scratches or uneven surfaces after installation; adjust stone to match cabinetry and wall levels.
· Communicate with cabinet makers, plumbers, electricians and builders to arrange installation schedules; consult homeowners to confirm design requirements; carry out final inspection walkthroughs.
Pay: $86,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
