Role Description The Workshop Technician is a full-time role based in Prestons, NSW. In this role, the technician assembles, tests, and repairs temperature sensors, instrumentation, and related equipment to precise technical specifications. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting technical drawings, performing calibrations, conducting quality checks, and documenting work in accordance with company standards and industry regulations. The technician collaborates with engineering and sales teams to support custom designs, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely delivery of workshop jobs. Responsibilities also involve maintaining a safe and organised workshop, managing tools and materials, and contributing to continuous improvement of processes and product reliability.
Qualifications
- Technical skills in mechanical or electrical assembly, use of hand and power tools, and basic troubleshooting of instrumentation or control devices.
- Experience with temperature measurement, calibration procedures, or related process control equipment in industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, work orders, and specification sheets with strong attention to detail.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality assurance, and adherence to standard operating procedures.
Metal fabrication experience preferred (but not essential)
TIG welding and small lathe work involved
Full in-house training provided
