About Future Group
Future Group is not your traditional financial services company – we're a collective of super funds and services committed to changing our planet now for a better tomorrow. When you join us, you’ll become part of a team united by a clear and important mission: to lead the investment movement by advocating and campaigning for a future worth retiring into.
We are looking for someone to join our purpose-led high-growth scale-up as a Senior Portfolio Manager. The role exists to support Future Group's mission of shifting capital into sustainable investments by ensuring our public market portfolios and investment options are positioned to deliver strong performance outcomes for members while advancing a future worth retiring into. And the best bit, you’ll get to work with some fantastic work mates! You'll join our recently established Public Markets team, a growing group of investment professionals responsible for managing portfolios across equities, fixed income and cash. Together, we're building the investment capability, tools and approaches needed to deliver high-quality outcomes for members, while challenging traditional thinking about how superannuation money can be invested to create positive change.
Future Group values diverse lived experience and identities, and we strongly encourage applications from people of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds, those with caring responsibilities, from culturally and racially marginalised groups, with disabilities, who experience ageism, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and those who face social exclusion due to their social class.
We recognise that the recruitment journey may present unique challenges for trans and gender diverse folk, and we are committed to ensuring an inclusive and accessible recruitment process for all. We will happily make any reasonable adjustments to accommodate diverse needs, so if there is anything we can do to support you at any stage of your application, please let us know. About The Role
In this role, you'll help shape how Future Group invests in public markets. One day you might be deep in quantitative research or portfolio design. The next, you could be reviewing portfolio exposures, executing trades or working with external partners to improve how our investment strategies are implemented.
You'll spend your time:
- Designing and refining public market investment strategies and portfolios
- Using quantitative research and analysis to challenge assumptions and improve outcomes
- Managing portfolio exposures, liquidity and implementation decisions
- Executing trades across equities, fixed income, futures and other liquid markets
- Monitoring portfolio performance and identifying opportunities to do things better
- Working closely with brokers, fund managers and implementation partners
- Collaborating with colleagues across Investments, Impact, Research, Risk & Analytics and Operations
- Helping build the next chapter of Future Group's public markets capability
The impact you'll have:
- Helping direct more capital towards sustainable investments
- Influencing how we invest on behalf of our members
- Building something new, not simply maintaining the status quo
-
You find superannuation opaque and frustrating, if you had the chance to revolutionise the industry to be better for people, you would
- You love sharing your ideas and seeing what happens. At this scale-up, you're not just a small fish in a big pond. Your contributions have a direct influence on our impact and how we work
- You like to be kept on your toes - change is inevitable here. You like to tackle new challenges, and maybe even discover talents you never knew you had
- You enjoy connecting investment theory with real-world implementation
- You like digging into data, asking questions and challenging conventional thinking
- You get energy from solving complex problems and finding better ways of doing things
- You're comfortable making decisions when markets move quickly
- You enjoy collaborating with smart people who care deeply about what they do
- You have a genuine interest in sustainable investing and the role capital can play in creating positive change
- You're excited by the opportunity to help build something, not just inherit it
