We’re looking for a Content & Retail Assistant to join our small team at Merewether Atelier — a women’s and children’s independent boutique in Merewether, Newcastle.
We stock beloved Australian and independent brands, alongside local emerging businesses, and we’re all about making shopping feel personal, relaxed and fun.
A little about the role
Retail today is hybrid. Our customers discover us on Instagram, see products on people, come into our store and shop online — so this role is about connecting with people both in person and online.
You’ll spend your time:
- Helping customers, styling outfits and building relationships
- Sharing our latest arrivals through Instagram, Reels and TikTok
- Picking up the camera and confidently creating content — try-ons, outfit videos, selfies, new arrivals and behind-the-scenes content
- Helping with online orders and everyday store tasks
- Keeping the store looking beautiful and welcoming
- Coming up with fun content ideas and getting involved
About you
You’re:
- A genuine people person who enjoys talking to and helping others
- Friendly, confident and approachable
- Love getting in front of a camera
- Happy to regularly feature in content and show off our latest arrivals, outfits and styling
- Interested in fashion, styling and social media
- Comfortable working independently and within a small team
- Reliable, enthusiastic and keen to learn
Retail experience is a bonus, but definitely not essential. We’re much more interested in your personality, confidence and initiative.
