Family Day Care Coordinator – Position Description

Hours: 7.6-hour workdays
Role Overview
The Family Day Care Coordinator plays a key role in supporting educators, ensuring compliance with the National Quality Framework (NQF), and maintaining high-quality early childhood education and care across the service. This role involves regular communication with educators and families, monitoring regulatory requirements, and supporting continuous quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Educator Support & Monitoring
- Provide ongoing guidance, mentoring, and support to Family Day Care educators
- Conduct regular home visits and monitor educator practices
- Support educators to meet the National Quality Standards (NQS) and service policies
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations
- Support incident, injury, trauma, and illness reporting processes
- Maintain accurate educator and child records in line with regulatory requirements
- Assist with assessment and rating preparation and continuous improvement
Communication & Relationships
- Act as a key point of contact for educators and families
- Support positive relationships between educators, families, and the service
- Communicate policy updates, regulatory changes, and service expectations
Administration & Coordination
- Maintain educator documentation and compliance records
- Support educator onboarding, inductions, and ongoing training
- Assist with CCS, enrolments, and service systems as required
Essential Requirements
- Approved Diploma or higher qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care (or working towards, where applicable)
- Sound knowledge of the National Quality Framework
- Current Working With Children Check
- Current National Police Check
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Strong communication, organisation, and time-management skills
Desirable
- Experience in a Family Day Care or coordination role
- Knowledge of CCS and service management systems
- Understanding of ACECQA and regulatory authority requirements
