About the role:
Our Environmental and Geosciences team is an integrated geotechnical engineering, hydrogeological and environmental consultant to a wide range of clients working on infrastructure and developments, both for private and public entities across Australia. Due to exceptional success and continued growth in our Geosciences team, we have an opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Melbourne office.
Working alongside experienced engineers and project managers, you will gain exposure to site investigations, technical reporting, and design development while continuing to build your technical capability. This role provides a strong platform for ongoing professional growth within a collaborative consulting environment, with clear pathways to develop your career and take on increasing responsibility over time.

Day to day tasks would involve:
- Undertake and support geotechnical site investigations, including fieldwork coordination and supervision of subcontractors.
- Log and interpret soil and rock conditions, reviewing laboratory and in-situ testing results to inform engineering assessments.
- Supporting geotechnical analysis, design calculations, and technical reporting.
- Support proposal preparation, client communications, and the continuous improvement of technical practices and project delivery.
- Contribute to the delivery of geotechnical projects, ensuring outcomes meet safety, quality, budget, and schedule requirements.
To be successful for this role you'll need:
- Tertiary qualifications in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering with completion of geotechnical electives and/or major as part of your university studies
- Minimum 2 years’ post‑graduate experience in a geotechnical or consulting environment
- Working knowledge of geotechnical investigation techniques and reporting
- Exposure to Australian standards and local ground conditions (desirable)
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, team‑focused approach
