Join our team as a Trail Builder on our Mountain Bike Projects, where you’ll help shape premier trails in the Australian landscape.
Trail Builders play a crucial role in delivering quality trail products through hard work and attention to detail. They must respect, understand and deliver directives from the Trail Designer, Machine Operator and Site Supervisor.
- Use hand tools (shovels, rakes, pickaxes, etc.), power tools (chainsaws, whipper snippers, etc.), and small machinery (plate compactors, etc.) to groom and shape trails.
- Clear vegetation, remove debris, and prepare pathways for machinery.
- Move and position rocks for rock armouring, walls, bridges, boardwalks and drainage solutions.
- Shape and apply the finishing touches to trail features, including berms, jumps, and rollers.
- Ensure safety, maintain equipment and tools, manage time effectively, and test ride completed trails.
- Collaborate with the Trail Designers, Machine Operators, and Site Supervisor to ensure world-class trail construction. Follow directives for optimal team performance.
- In collaboration with the project Site Supervisor, Project Manager and Machine Operators, ensure all project-specific environmental controls are implemented and adhered to
- Understanding of mountain biking culture and sport.
- Construction Induction White Card (or obtain before starting).
- Driver’s Licence
- Construction Induction White Card (or obtain before starting).
- Willingness to relocate to project areas and live in shared accommodation with other team members (relocation assistance provided).
- Commitment to preserving natural and cultural values of the construction site.
- Trade qualification or experience in landscaping, construction, or similar fields.
- Experience in mountain bike trail construction.
- Advanced chainsaw operation skills.
- Experience with machinery such as mini-excavators and compactors.
- First Aid certification.
