About the Role
This role sits within Chubb’s Financial Lines Team and plays an important part in driving profitable growth, strengthening producer and client relationships, and supporting service excellence across the portfolio.
As a senior technical underwriter, you will help assess, select, and manage Financial Lines risks in line with underwriting guidelines and profitability objectives. You will also contribute to portfolio development, support key broker and client relationships, and provide technical expertise to the wider team.
The role offers the opportunity to work on complex accounts, influence portfolio performance, and represent Chubb’s global capabilities and risk management expertise in the market.
In this role, you will:
Underwriting and Portfolio Management
- Support the delivery of profitable underwriting results across the Financial Lines portfolio.
- Assess, price, and negotiate new business and renewals within delegated authority.
- Apply sound underwriting judgement, using endorsements and pricing structures appropriately.
- Refer risks outside authority to product managers as required.
- Provide technical guidance on complex risks, referrals, and portfolio management.
- Monitor claims activity, premium performance, and loss trends.
Support and mentor less experienced team members, sharing technical expertise and sound underwriting judgement.

Business Development and Relationship Management
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, including cross-sell opportunities across the business.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, insureds, and key market partners.
- Prepare, present, and negotiate quotations for new and renewal business.
- Participate in business development activity, including broker visits, client meetings, and team presentations.
- Promote Chubb’s appetite, products, and capabilities to the market.
Share market intelligence, including competitor activity and emerging trends, with the wider team.

- Deliver against service standards and support a strong client and broker experience.
- Use reporting and performance insights to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and high-quality service delivery.
What you’ll bring to the role
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of Financial Lines insurance.
- Proven technical underwriting ability, with strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with brokers, customers, and internal stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience developing tailored underwriting solutions for complex risks.
- Understanding of pricing techniques and modelling.
- Experience managing complex accounts and supporting marketing plans.
- Awareness of competitor products and market positioning.
- Strong analytical skills, including claims interpretation and use of loss control resources.
- A collaborative, results-driven approach with a track record of high performance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
