DEECA’s Business Analysis, Delivery and Implementation team help shape the digital and data solutions that support Victoria's bushfire, emergency management and public land operations. In this role, you'll work on complex and meaningful initiatives that improve how data is collected, integrated, analysed and used to support critical operational and strategic decisions across the state.

As a Senior Business Analyst, you'll play a leading role in delivering innovative technology and data initiatives across Bushfire and Forest Services. You'll partner with stakeholders across DEECA and our partner agencies to understand complex business challenges, identify opportunities for improvement, and contribute to solutions that deliver real-world outcomes.

What you'll do
- Lead discovery, analysis and requirements activities for complex projects
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagement activities
- Identify and document business, functional and reporting requirements
- Analyse business processes and identify opportunities for improvement
- Work closely with project managers, developers, architects and product owners to deliver quality solutions
- Provide guidance and mentoring to other business analysts
- Support testing, implementation and change activities throughout the project lifecycle

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Substantial experience as a Senior Business Analyst, with broad and diverse experience in multiple organisations. Experience should include custom application development, enhancements to existing applications, and assessment, configuration and delivery of Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) products.
- Tertiary degree in an information technology or information systems-related discipline, or a degree in another discipline plus a postgraduate qualification in IT or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education/training.
This is a fixed term position available for a period until 29 September 2028. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
