Position Summary
To lead daily operations of the Dhukurrdji Development Corporation Hospitality, ensuring exceptional guest service, efficient team management, and adherence to safety/compliance standards in an isolated, high-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Manage guest booking system and housekeeping operations to ensure high standards. Support the chef in ensuring kitchen operations run smoothly daily.
- Team Management: Supervise, roster, and mentor team members, fostering a culturally diverse and inclusive workplace. Oversee timesheet compliance by reviewing and approving submissions to ensure accuracy and timely processing of staff payments.
- Customer Experience: Deliver, and ensure staff deliver, exceptional service to guests and customers of the Dhukurrdji Development Corporation.
- Stock & Inventory: Manage ordering and cost control of supplies.
- Compliance & Safety: Maintain, and enforce, strict adherence to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and Food Handlers safety guidelines.
- Invoicing: Ensure guests are invoiced and payments are made on booking system.
- Barge Delivery: Assist in barge pickups, ensuring staff collect all deliveries in a timely manner.
- Accommodation Maintenance: Ensure maintenance issues are rectified in a timely manner and housekeeping staff are logging any issues.
- Food Truck: Assist with the start-up and manage ongoing operation of the food truck.
- Undertake other reasonable duties, consistent with the scope and classification of the position, as directed by the Hospitality Manager.
- Prepare and submit reports to the General Manager on operations of Dhukurrdji Lodge as requested.
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated supervisory experience in a similar fast-paced hospitality role.
- Proven ability to work in remote, isolated, or challenging environments (previous remote or community experience preferred).
- High adaptability, problem-solving, and a "hands-on" attitude.
- Strong, respectful communication skills, including cultural awareness.
- Certifications:
- Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate - Essential.
- Ochre Card (Working with Children) - Essential.
