About us:
The Gladstone Hospital Emergency Department is a vital 24-hour public facility treating approximately 35,000 patients annually. We provide immediate resuscitation, stabilization, and definitive care for a diverse regional demographic, with paediatric cases making up a quarter of our presentations. Our department operates as a collaborative, interdisciplinary team committed to building healthy communities through exceptional clinical practice and deep community partnerships.
About the role:
Deliver high-quality, contemporary evidence-based nursing care to patients navigating acute illness and injury.
Perform rapid, accurate clinical assessments and coordinate holistic pathways of care within the multidisciplinary team.
Intervene decisively and effectively during sudden alterations in patient health status using advanced critical thinking.
Provide reassuring health education and emotional support to anxious patients, clients, and their families.
Coordinate shifts and provide constructive clinical leadership to Enrolled Nurses and clinical support staff.
About you:
You maintain current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
You have a proven clinical ability to comprehensively assess, plan, implement, and evaluate emergency patient care.
You possess a thorough understanding of legal and professional nursing responsibilities under the NMBA Standards for Practice.
You display exceptional communication skills, showing profound empathy and clarity when speaking with patients and families in crisis.
You demonstrate excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and critical thinking skills in rapidly changing clinical environments.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $127,861 p.a. is comprised of:
An hourly rate between $44.06 - $56.51 p.h.
12.75% employer superannuation contribution
