About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Refrigeration Service Mechanic to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial refrigeration systems while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, service, and repair commercial refrigeration and cooling systems.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on refrigeration equipment and associated components.
- Install, commission, and test refrigeration units and systems.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and undertake corrective repairs.
- Recover, handle, and recharge refrigerants in accordance with industry regulations.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
- Complete service reports and maintenance documentation accurately.
- Respond to breakdown and emergency service requests as required.
- Ensure compliance with WHS policies, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
- Liaise professionally with customers and provide technical advice when required.
Skills and Experience
- Trade-qualified Refrigeration Mechanic (around 5+ years post-apprenticeship)
- ARCtick License and Refrigeration Mechanic Trade Certificate essential
- Strong fault-finding skills on commercial systems
- 3-5 years of commercial refrigeration experience required
- Someone reliable with a good attitude
- Good with customers — can communicate clearly and professionally
- Takes pride in their work and works well in a team
