We are a 4-vet small animal practice nestled in the stunning Port Stephens region – just north of Newcastle and only five minutes from the beach. We're well-equipped for serious clinical work, with ultrasound, endoscopy, orthopaedic equipment and electrocautery. If you have a passion for surgery, you'll have plenty of room to grow here.
The Role:
We're looking for a Part-Time Lead Veterinarian to join us on a 7-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave, commencing in December 2026.
As Lead Vet, you'll provide day-to-day clinical guidance and support to the veterinary team, while also stepping in to cover the superintendent duties. You'll be involved in a varied caseload of consultations and surgery.

Hours:

3 weekdays per week, 8:30am–6:00pm

1 weekend per month: Saturday: 8:30am–1:00pm & Sunday: 8:30am–11:00am

What you’ll bring:

A Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) or equivalent, recognised in Australia

At least 3+ years of experience
- Confidence in soft tissue surgery

Experience mentoring veterinarians in a supportive veterinary practice is desirable but not essential
