Position Summary
SRP Care is seeking a passionate and motivated Casual Occupational Therapist to join our growing allied health team. This community-based role involves working with children, adolescents, and adults who are NDIS participants, providing assessments, therapy interventions, assistive technology recommendations, home modification assessments, and comprehensive reports to support participants in achieving their NDIS goals.
This role offers flexible working hours, allowing the successful applicant to manage their own availability while delivering high-quality occupational therapy services across Melbourne.
Key Responsibilities
The Occupational Therapist will:
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy services to NDIS participants.
- Conduct Functional Capacity Assessments (FCA).
- Complete Activities of Daily Living (ADL) assessments.
- Assess participant strengths, needs, and functional abilities.
- Develop person-centred therapy plans aligned with participants' NDIS goals.
- Deliver individual therapy sessions in participants' homes, schools, workplaces, community settings, or via telehealth where appropriate.
- Recommend Assistive Technology (AT) and complete supporting assessments and reports.
- Conduct home modification assessments and provide recommendations.
- Prepare high-quality clinical reports, including:
- Functional Capacity Assessments
- Progress Reports
- Supporting Evidence Reports
- Assistive Technology Reports
- Home Modification Reports
- Provide education and training to families, carers, and support workers.
- Liaise with Support Coordinators, Plan Managers, Local Area Coordinators (LACs), GPs, specialists, schools, and other allied health professionals.
- Monitor participant progress and regularly review therapy goals.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation.
- Comply with NDIS Practice Standards and the NDIS Code of Conduct.
- Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and ongoing professional development.
- Promote participant choice, independence, dignity, and inclusion.
Essential Selection Criteria
Applicants must have:
- A Bachelor or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia through AHPRA.
- Experience working with people living with disability (NDIS experience is highly desirable).
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current Working with Children Check (Victoria).
- Current National Police Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Current Victorian Driver Licence.
- Reliable motor vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong assessment, clinical reasoning, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible caseload.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Competency using electronic clinical record systems and Microsoft Office.

- Maintain compliance with AHPRA, NDIS Practice Standards, and SRP Care policies.
- Communicate effectively with participants and stakeholders.
- Participate in supervision and professional development.
