Freightways is seeking an experienced and commercially minded National IT Manager to lead technology operations across our Australian businesses and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of technology within one of Australasia's leading logistics and transport groups.
This is more than an IT leadership role. As a trusted advisor to senior business leaders and an extension of their executive teams, you will influence strategic decisions, drive operational excellence, and ensure technology investments deliver meaningful business outcomes.
Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), you will provide leadership across Australian IT operations, infrastructure services, business engagement, vendor management, and technology governance while helping define and execute the Australian technology roadmap.

The Role
As National IT Manager – Australia, you will be responsible for the overall performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of technology services across Australian operations.
You will lead operational IT functions, champion service excellence, and ensure technology initiatives remain aligned to business priorities, growth objectives, and customer expectations.
You will also play a key role in:
- Developing and delivering the Australian technology strategy and roadmap.
- Leading technology governance and prioritisation processes.
- Driving service performance, operational reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Managing major incidents, business continuity, and disaster recovery readiness.
- Overseeing technology vendors, commercial relationships, and operational budgets.
- Ensuring technology services remain secure, compliant, and fit for purpose.

You have the credibility and confidence to work alongside senior executives, while also maintaining a deep understanding of service delivery, infrastructure operations, and technology governance.
