Love working with your hands and never doing the same thing twice? We are looking for a switched-on Maintenance Officer to help keep a respected Camberwell school looking sharp, running safely and ready for whatever the school day throws at it.
This is a role with real variety - one day you will fix a leaking tap, the next you will be setting up the hall for exams or building a stage for an upcoming school performance. You will be the kind of person staff are glad to see walking through the door.
You will be working with Prompcorp - a trusted facilities partner that looks after the people who look after the sites.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Tackling routine maintenance and minor repairs across buildings, fixtures and equipment - plumbing, basic electrical, HVAC and carpentry
- Responding quickly to maintenance requests and sorting issues before they become problems
- Helping set up (and pack down) exams, open days, sports days and school events
- Keeping the grounds and facilities clean, safe and well presented
- Moving and storing furniture, equipment and deliveries
- Working alongside trades and external contractors, and keeping their work up to standard
- Staying on top of preventive maintenance schedules and keeping clear records
- Flagging and addressing any health and safety concerns immediately
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- A trade background and/or trade qualification
- Solid knowledge of minor maintenance and grounds upkeep
- MANDATORY - Working with Children Check
- National Police Check will be required as well
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, can-do approach
- Good organisation, attention to detail and the ability to juggle priorities
- Nice to have - experience in a school or similar environment, and a First Aid qualification.
