We are currently looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic and experienced Sales Assistant to join our friendly team at Bakers Delight Engadine Central.
We’re a busy, locally owned bakery with a strong focus on great customer service, teamwork and creating a welcoming experience for our customers.
We’re looking for someone who is confident working in a fast-paced retail environment, genuinely enjoys working with people and is reliable, motivated and willing to contribute to the wider team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing genuine, friendly and efficient customer service
- Building rapport with our customers and creating a positive in-store experience
- Achieving sales targets through great service, product knowledge and upselling
- Promoting current products and marketing campaigns
- Processing customer transactions using our POS system
- Merchandising and maintaining displays to ensure the bakery always looks attractive and inviting
- Maintaining a clean, safe and well-presented workplace
- Completing relevant daily, weekly and monthly records
- Supporting and assisting other team members
- Helping train, coach and mentor junior and new members of the team
- Following workplace health, safety and company standards
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Previous retail, sales or customer service experience
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- A friendly, positive and approachable personality
- Strong reliability and commitment to your rostered shifts
- Good organisation skills and attention to detail
- Confidence working independently and using initiative
- The ability to work well as part of a team
- A willingness to support and guide younger team members
- A genuine desire to exceed customer expectations
Availability – Please Read Before Applying
This is specifically a weekday position.
Applicants must have regular availability Monday to Friday between 6:30am and 3:30pm.
You will not necessarily work the full span of these hours each day, however we are looking for someone with flexibility to work a variety of shifts within this timeframe.
There is the potential for regular ongoing hours across approximately four days per week for the right person.
