Precision Performance and Mechanical is seeking a skilled Performance Automotive Mechanic to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis in Hillcrest. This is an exciting opportunity to work with high-performance vehicles and utilise your expertise in diagnosing, maintaining and repairing complex automotive systems. You will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service to our customers whilst maintaining the highest standards of workmanship and safety. This position offers the chance to work on diverse and challenging projects, from routine maintenance to advanced performance modifications.
Key responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in performance and high-end vehicles using diagnostic equipment and technical expertise
- Perform scheduled maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks and component inspections
- Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections and provide detailed reports for customers regarding repairs and maintenance recommendations
- Disassemble, repair and reassemble engine components, transmissions, suspension systems and other mechanical assemblies
- Test vehicles after repairs and adjustments to ensure they meet performance standards and safety requirements
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used and hours spent on each vehicle
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and workshop protocols
- Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient workshop operations and customer satisfaction
What we're looking for
- A recognised automotive apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in mechanical or automotive engineering
- Minimum 5 years' experience working as a mechanic, preferably in performance or high-end vehicle servicing
- Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and computer-based vehicle management systems
- Strong technical knowledge of engine systems, transmissions, suspension, braking systems and electrical components
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams and service specifications
- Physical capability to lift, carry and work with heavy tools and vehicle components
- Valid driver's licence and ability to test drive vehicles safely
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
- A commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with automotive technology advances
- Experience with performance modifications, custom builds or motorsport vehicles is highly desirable
- Experience in fabrication highly desirable
- Experience in auto electrical highly desirable
