Female Disability Support Worker – Casual (Sunbury)
Best Support is seeking a compassionate, respectful and reliable female Disability Support Worker to support a male NDIS participant in Sunbury. The successful applicant must have previous experience assisting with stoma bag care and providing personal hygiene support, including showering, dressing and grooming. The participant generally manages his stoma bag independently but may occasionally require assistance, so the worker must be confident, sensitive and respectful when providing this support. The worker must always respect the participant’s privacy, dignity, choices, preferences and independence. The home has two very small dogs, so applicants must be pet-friendly and comfortable working around them.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with showering, dressing, grooming and personal hygiene
Provide assistance with stoma bag care when requested
Assist with household cleaning and daily living tasks
Prepare simple meals when required
Listen to and follow the participant’s preferences and instructions
Maintain privacy, dignity and professional boundaries
Complete accurate electronic shift notes
Provide consistent, safe and person-centred support
Essential Requirements
Previous experience with stoma bag care
Previous experience providing personal hygiene and personal care
Pet-friendly and comfortable around two very small dogs
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
Current First Aid and CPR certificates
NDIS Worker Orientation Module: Quality, Safety and You
Valid Australian driver’s licence
Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
Valid Australian working rights
Ability to work safely and independently
Reliable availability for morning shifts

Hours: Morning shifts, Mon, Wed, Friday approximately 8:00 am–12:00 pm, Ongoing shifts.
Pay rate: To be discussed based on experience and qualifications
