Seeking a Workshop / Service Technician to join our growing service department. This role involves the servicing, repair, and maintenance of commercial cleaning equipment including floor scrubbers, sweepers, and industrial vacuums.
Our industry is specialised and hands-on. While there is no single trade qualification that covers all aspects of this work, we provide structured training and support. This position is suitable for a technically minded individual, including adult trainees, who is keen to build a long-term career in a niche service industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service, and repair commercial cleaning equipment (floor scrubbers, vacuums, sweepers)
- Perform preventative maintenance and fault finding
- Strip-down, clean, rebuild, and test components (motors, pumps, batteries, chargers)
- Electrical testing and tagging (single and three phase – training provided)
- Maintain accurate service records and job documentation
- Assist with workshop organisation and parts management
- Occasional on-site service work (after training)
Training & Development
- Electrical Test & Tag certification
- On-the-job training with experienced technicians
- Clear pathway to senior technician role
About You
- Mechanical or electrical aptitude (trade background not essential)
- Hands-on problem solver with strong attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures
- Comfortable using hand tools and basic diagnostic equipment
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude
- Current driver’s licence
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience with equipment servicing, automotive, appliances, or machinery
- Basic electrical knowledge
- Prior test & tag experience
- Experience in a workshop or service environment
