SMG Construction WA Pty Ltd is a well-established Western Australian construction and cabinetry business specialising in the manufacture and installation of high-quality custom cabinetry and joinery for residential and commercial projects. Due to continued business growth, we are seeking an experienced Cabinet Maker to join our team on a full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Conducting on-site measurements and verifying dimensions for custom cabinetry.
- Liaising with clients to determine design requirements, functionality, finishes and project specifications.
- Preparing cabinetry designs and shop drawings using CAD software such as Cabinet Vision, AutoCAD, SketchUp or similar.
- Interpreting technical drawings, plans and specifications.
- Coordinating material selection, ordering and production requirements.
- Measuring, cutting, shaping and assembling timber, laminates and other materials.
- Manufacturing and assembling custom cabinetry including kitchens, wardrobes, vanities, office fit-outs and other bespoke joinery.
- Operating woodworking machinery, hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Installing cabinetry on-site, ensuring accurate fit, alignment and high-quality finishes.
- Applying laminates, veneers, stains and other finishes as required.
- Inspecting completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Performing repairs, alterations and modifications to existing cabinetry.
- Maintaining workshop safety, housekeeping and equipment.
- Collaborating with designers, supervisors and other trades to meet project deadlines.
- Recording job progress and reporting any production or installation issues.
Essential Requirements
Applicants should possess:
- At least three years of relevant full-time experience as a Cabinet Maker.
- Demonstrated ability to manufacture and install high-quality custom cabinetry.
- Experience interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Experience using woodworking machinery and associated hand and power tools.
- Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A current driver's licence (preferred).
This is a full-time ongoing position offering the opportunity to join a growing business with a strong pipeline of residential and commercial cabinetry projects.
Pay: From $77,000.00 per year
