Nestled at the end of the Strzelecki Track, just 40km from the Queensland border, Innamincka is more than a town—it’s a destination. Since 1972, the Innamincka Trading Post has been the heart of this community, serving locals, travellers, and adventurers with fuel, food, accommodation, and essential services.
We're looking for a hands-on couple with a genuine love for outback life, customer service, and community involvement to manage the daily operations of the Trading Post.
Your Role:
Your responsibilities include:
- Day-to-day management of the store, accommodation and fuel services
- Managing accommodation bookings
- Managing stock including stock control, stock ordering, freight logistics and regular stocktakes
- Managing all aspects of the retail section of the store, stock displays, merchandise presentation, stock levels, and freight logistics
- Overseeing budgets, cash handling, banking, and general reporting
- Monitoring of fuel, fuel dips, fuel ordering, safety procedures
- Maintaining facilities and handling basic repairs and after-hours callouts
- Liaising with local services like police, RFDS, and nearby communities
- Ensuring every visitor and local receives a warm, memorable experience
About You:
We are seeking a couple that is:
Hard-working, hands-on, and community-minded
- Experienced in hospitality, roadhouse or accommodation management
- Experienced with short order cooking
- Organised, with strong communication and leadership skills
- Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Ideally with short-order cooking experience and a forklift licence (preferred)
You’ll need:
A current driver’s licence
- National Police Check prior to start
