About the role
We are seeking Experienced NDIS Support Workers to join our team in Campbelltown, NSW. This is a casual position offering flexibility whilst delivering exceptional support to individuals with disabilities under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) framework. As an Experienced NDIS Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by providing personalised, dignified support that promotes their independence, social inclusion, and wellbeing. This position is fundamental to our mission of delivering person-centred care that truly makes a difference in the lives of the people we support.
Key responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care and support to NDIS participants, assisting with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and meal preparation
- Support clients in accessing community activities, attending appointments, and engaging in social and recreational pursuits that align with their goals
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of support provided, client progress, and any incidents or concerns that arise during shifts
- Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other members of the support team to ensure coordinated and consistent care
- Assist clients with mobility support and safe manual handling techniques in accordance with health and safety protocols
- Encourage client independence and autonomy by promoting self-care skills and decision-making wherever possible
- Respond promptly and professionally to client requests and concerns, demonstrating patience, empathy, and active listening
- Contribute to a safe and inclusive environment by adhering to all organisational policies, procedures, and legal requirements, including NDIS quality and safeguarding standards
- Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to maintain professional development and stay updated on best practice
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as an Experienced NDIS Support Worker or in a similar disability support role, demonstrating a strong track record of providing high-quality, person-centred support
- Current formal qualifications such as a Certificate III or IV in Disability Support, Community Services, or an equivalent recognised qualification
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain these qualifications promptly
- A valid NDIS worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Clearance, or eligibility to obtain these
- Strong understanding of the NDIS framework, participant goals, and recovery-oriented practice principles
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients from diverse backgrounds
- Physical fitness and capability to provide safe manual handling and mobility assistance
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- Commitment to safeguarding principles, confidentiality, and upholding the dignity and rights of all individuals
- Flexibility to work casual shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
- A genuine passion for disability support and a demonstrated commitment to making a positive difference in clients' lives
- Driver’s license and reliable vehicle
Highly Desirable Experience (Any of the Following)
- Assistant in Nursing (AIN) background or similar.
- Epilepsy support
- Manual handling / hoist use
- Schizophrenia / Bipolar Disorder
- Non-verbal participants
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Stoma care
- Catheter care
- Wound care
- Anaphylaxis management
- Dyspepsia / complex health needs
