Solution Architect
Cadence Connect have partnered exclusively with a growing technology services business to onboard a Solution Architect to support customer consulting, solution design and pre-sales across a broad client base.
This role suits someone who combines strong Microsoft 365 solution design capability with commercial acumen, and who is comfortable working across both enterprise-style engagements and managed services environments.
The focus is on helping shape practical customer solutions, supporting pre-sales momentum, and partnering with sales, delivery and technical specialists to move opportunities through efficiently.
The role
You'll work closely with practice and sales leadership to lead customer consulting conversations, define solution scope, produce design and proposal artefacts, and support successful delivery outcomes.
This is a hands-on architecture role with a strong pre-sales and commercial component. You'll be expected to understand customer needs, shape fit-for-purpose solutions, build estimates and scopes, and know when to bring in specialist technical expertise.
What you'll be doing
- Lead customer discovery, consulting sessions and solution design conversations across Microsoft 365
- Translate business and technical requirements into practical solution options and implementation approaches
- Own or contribute to proposals, statements of work, scope documents and effort estimates
- Support pre-sales activity including customer presentations, commercial scoping and solution positioning
- Partner with sales and technical teams to move opportunities forward efficiently
- Provide design leadership, oversight and mentorship to engineers and SMEs
- Support complex customer outcomes across design validation, technical risk and delivery guidance
- Contribute to reusable standards, artefacts and service improvement initiatives
What we're looking for
- Strong experience in customer-facing consulting, solution design and pre-sales
- Broad Microsoft 365 capability across areas such as:
- modern workplace
- security
- identity
- collaboration
- compliance
- endpoint management
- Strong experience producing:
- architecture documents
- scope documents
- statements of work
- commercial / effort-based estimates
- Ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into commercially sound, supportable solutions
- Managed services, consulting or project delivery experience preferred
Highly regarded
- Experience across Purview, data, governance and modern work environments
- Security and governance exposure, including frameworks such as Essential Eight, CIS, and broader compliance / AI readiness work
- Azure IaaS / PaaS experience
- Microsoft certifications across Administrator, Security, Identity, Teams, Endpoint or Solution Architect pathways
- Experience mentoring engineers and supporting complex delivery outcomes
