THE ROLE
The Project Officer in Organisational Strategy and Projects (OSP) works as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering projects that address whole-of-department priorities relating to organisational change, efficiencies, effectiveness and continuous improvement. The team focuses on the priorities of the Secretary and the Board of the department. The team's projects focus on scale and impact, and as such typically focus on whole-of-department or large systems, processes and ways of working. This includes corporate, operations and other projects.
The Project Officer will be familiar with general project management tasks, and adept at key software and delivery programs to support administration and delivery of supporting documents such as process mapping, risk registers, governance papers and organisational systems.
You are an organised person, known for your attention to detail, accuracy and integrity. You thrive in workplaces with varied work programs to support key activities and deliver to timelines as required to support the team deliver key outcomes.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Contribute to the full life cycle of projects to meet departmental objectives including:
- Supporting or undertaking research, analysis and implementation of projects based on defined outcomes and outputs
- Supporting projects or sub-projects and being responsible for key pieces of work within the project delivery plan.
- Providing administrative support to project management function, including supporting stakeholder engagement tasks, calendar management and coordination support, data entry and analysis.
- Working with project plans to update key documentation and registers with high priority issues, risks and trends ensuring details are kept up to date, mitigations documented and key issues escalated.
- Support the development and delivery of processes, tools and systems for the effective monitoring and coordination of program objectives
