Primary objective
Deliver professional administrative services, including providing financial and administrative support to the School Operations
Manager, the Principal and teaching staff in a busy and demanding school environment.
Context Statement
Yuendumu School is located in the community of Yuendumu, 300km northwest of Alice Springs on the Tanami Road. The school
provides bilingual education to approximately 230 students from Preschool to Year 12 with over 96% of students speaking Warlpiri
as a first language. It includes a Bilingual Resource Development Unit, a Families as First Teachers Program, a Learning in Country
Team, as well as a Child and Family Centre. The Administration Officer is pivotal in the maintenance of the school’s systems, policies
and processes. The school utilises the Student Administration Management System (SAMS) database to record student and school
data and information and attendance.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Deliver professional front office reception duties including answering calls, greeting visitors, scheduling appointments and
providing information to the wider school community.
2. Perform data entry and retrieval of data from the Student Administration Management System and other school data systems,
to ensure the integrity and currency of all manual and computerised student records.
3. Provide administrative support to the front office, the principal, leadership team, teaching staff and other relevant tasks as
directed by the School Operations Manager.
4. Responsible for accurate and timely receipting and banking of monies coming into the school, and ordering and maintaining
supplies.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in providing a range of administrative functions and the use of various office systems applications
such as administration management databases, spreadsheets and reporting.
2. Proven ability to develop and maintain working partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
3. Sound written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with people from diverse
cultural, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds.
4. Ability to monitor own performance and tasks against expected outcomes, deadlines, whilst in a busy, fast-paced work
environment.
5. Current First Aid certification or the ability to obtain.
Desirable
1. Demonstrated experience in the management of cash and purchasing including receipting and banking monies in accordance
with policies and processes.

Two vacancies are available, one AO3 level and one AO3 96 level. The selected applicant must obtain a current NT Working with
Children Notice (Ochre Card), as wells as a NT driver’s licence or the ability to obtain one. If required, government employee
