About the role
You will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and customer-focused operation of ground services for airline passengers and aircraft. This position is responsible for coordinating and executing a range of operational tasks including passenger assistance, baggage handling, aircraft servicing, and compliance with aviation safety standards. The operator acts as a frontline representative of the airline, delivering high-quality service while maintaining strict adherence to regulatory and operational procedures.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Assisting passengers during check-in, boarding, and disembarkation, ensuring a smooth and courteous experience.
Handling baggage operations including loading, unloading, sorting, and transferring luggage safely and efficiently.
Operating ground service equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and air stairs in accordance with safety protocols.
Conducting aircraft turnaround services including cabin cleaning, restocking supplies, and lavatory servicing.
Monitoring and reporting any irregularities or safety concerns related to aircraft, passengers, or equipment.
Communicating effectively with airline staff, ground crew, and airport authorities to coordinate operations.
Ensuring compliance with aviation security regulations and workplace health and safety standards.
Responding promptly to passenger inquiries and provide accurate information regarding flights and service.
About you
Our ideal candidate will have:
Background in aviation, airport operations, or customer service, supported by AVIC0001 – Drive on Airside, AVID0006 – Prepare Freight for Flight, and AVII0009 – Check in Aircraft Passengers.
Competent with baggage systems and ground support equipment; qualified to Drive Light Rigid and Drive Medium Rigid Vehicles.
Skilled in cargo preparation and acceptance, including AVID0006 and AVID0005 – Accept Dangerous Goods for Air Transport.
Experienced in passenger check‑in (AVII0009) with desirable capability in AVIF0044 – Marshal Aircraft.
Strong adherence to safety protocols, reinforced by AVIF0022 – Maintain WHS Procedures in Remote Pilot Aircraft Systems.
Proven communication and collaboration in fast‑paced, physically demanding, shift‑based roles.
Holds Certificate III in Aviation (Flight Operations), Air Operator Certificate (AOC), and Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
Holds or has ability to obtain Forklift licensing.
You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
