Key Accountabilities
As Head Chef you’ll oversee the hotels F&B offering, from the Middle Eastern restaurant Tayim to the events menu and snacks at Eric’s Bar. This is a hands-on leadership role where creativity meets precision, you’ll work closely with the GM and F&B Manager to deliver an exceptional dining experience.
You will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, from menu innovation and signature dining experiences to maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation. Driving a culture of excellence, you’ll mentor and inspire a passionate culinary team, ensuring consistency and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
- Lead, train, and support a high-performing housekeeping team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
- Maintain exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces
- Conduct regular inspections and implement quality assurance procedures to uphold brand standards
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and linens, ensuring cost-effective stock control and timely replenishment
- Address guest concerns with professionalism and collaborate across departments to deliver seamless service
- Oversee departmental budget, monitor expenses, and drive efficiencies without compromising quality
- Assist with rostering, staffing levels, and cost control to meet financial targets and maintain service quality.
What You’ll Bring
- 2-3 + years’ experience as a Head Chef with a background ideally in hotels and premium restaurants.
- A solid understanding of Middle Eastern cuisine and can blend flavours from the regional area.
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to manage, lead and inspire a team.
- Creative and confident in developing seasonal menus and identifying and implementing opportunities to drive revenue growth through all F&B outlets.
- Strong background in managing food and labour costs, including rostering and cost of goods (COGs) control.
- Strong organisational, collaboration and communication skills, with a focus on quality, delivery, consistency, and guest satisfaction.
