We are looking for an experienced Policy and Planning Manager to lead the development, coordination, and implementation of organisational policies and strategic planning initiatives. This role is responsible for providing high-quality policy advice, driving evidence-based decision-making, and ensuring organisational strategies align with legislative, regulatory, and governance frameworks. The ideal candidate is analytical, commercially aware, and confident engaging with senior stakeholders across government and industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing review of organisational policies, frameworks, and strategic plans
- Analyse complex policy, legislative, and regulatory environments to inform strategic decision-making
- Coordinate policy research, evaluation, and impact assessments to support organisational objectives
- Translate policy analysis into clear, practical recommendations for senior leadership and boards
- Monitor policy performance and establish accountability measures, KPIs, and reporting mechanisms
- Oversee the preparation of policy papers, briefing notes, submissions, and executive-level reports
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies and industry bodies
- Represent the organisation at consultations, forums, negotiations, and public hearings
- Ensure organisational policies remain compliant with relevant legislation, standards, and best practices
- Support change initiatives by embedding policy frameworks into operational processes
- Provide expert advice on policy risk, governance, and long-term planning considerations
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in public policy, economics, law, business, social sciences, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience in policy development, strategic planning, or advisory roles
- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to interpret legislation and policy frameworks
- Proven experience preparing high-quality policy documents and executive reports
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, consultation, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes in complex environments
- Strong understanding of governance, accountability, and public or corporate policy processes
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills in professional settings
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in public policy, public administration, law, or strategic management
- Experience working with government, regulatory bodies, or large complex organisations
- Exposure to program evaluation, performance measurement, or regulatory compliance
- Experience contributing to organisational change or reform initiatives
