The Opportunity
The position of Research Assistant will work under the guidance of the Rebecca Davies JDRF Senior Research Fellow in Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) to support the implementation of the Mental Health and Wellbeing strategy within the Children’s Diabetes Centre. This position will support the Mental Health and Wellbeing team to conduct research projects aimed at improving the mental health and wellbeing of children, adolescents and young people living with T1D and their families.
Some of your responsibilities include:
- Contribute to preparation of manuscripts, for publication in national and international peer reviewed journals resulting from research outcomes of projects, scientific content for reports and grant applications.
- Assist in recruitment by reviewing all ethically approved methods of recruitment and use these strategies to help find potential eligible participants.
- Schedule visits in consultation with participants and other members of the research team and book rooms.
- Assist with data collection and analysis using mixed methods.
- Disseminate information throughout research group.
The position is part time (0.6-0.8FTE) for an initial 12 months.
About You
To be successful in the role you must meet the below criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Public Health or a related field.
- Experience in a research environment, preferably across different phases of development.
- Works effectively within an interdisciplinary team and collaboratively with colleagues.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate and conduct research and/or relevant audits or quality improvement projects.
