YMCA South Australia is looking for a skilled, passionate Physiotherapist to join our dynamic Allied Health team, delivering high quality, patient-centred care. A full-time opportunity is available for a Physiotherapist, based primarily at Marion Leisure & Fitness Centre (MLFC), commencing as soon as October 2026.
New graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply, receiving structured in-house mentoring from senior clinicians as you build your caseload and clinical confidence. The successful applicant will join a true multidisciplinary team, working alongside our Exercise Physiologists with a full gym on site, supporting genuinely integrated, evidence-based client care. The role will involve ongoing training and access to continuing professional development, along with a varied caseload across musculoskeletal, sports and general physiotherapy presentations.
THE ROLE
The role of the YMCA Physiotherapist is to design and deliver tailored physiotherapy programs for clients, based on thorough assessment and evidence-based practice, towards reaching functional outcomes.
We are searching for a Physiotherapist with excellent communication skills, a passion for working with people of all ages towards achieving their health goals, and enthusiasm for working within a vibrant, multidisciplinary team. Some experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and pelvic/women's health physiotherapy is highly desirable, though new graduates with the right attitude are strongly encouraged to apply, with structured mentoring provided by a senior clinician.
The ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team to optimise client and community health outcomes is essential. You will work closely with our onsite Exercise Physiologists and have access to a full gym, giving you the tools to deliver truly integrated care from initial assessment through to return to function.
Presenting clients are predominantly musculoskeletal conditions (including sports injuries, orthopaedic and occupational health conditions), but may vary to include some neurological, cardiovascular, women's health and paediatric conditions.
Duties may include:
individual assessments and treatment planning based on sound clinical reasoning
follow up rehabilitation consultations to maximise functional outcomes (including 'hands on' therapy modalities where appropriate)
exercise prescription and progression, including home exercise, gym, and return to sport/work programs
patient education, including self-management strategies and workload management
injury prevention (screening) and performance enhancement program delivery
health education and promotion workshops
collaborating closely with onsite Exercise Physiologists as part of a genuine multidisciplinary care team
A full-time position is available, providing high quality physiotherapy services within a fully equipped gym environment. Structured in-house mentoring from a senior clinician, along with ongoing professional development support, is provided, making this an excellent opportunity for new graduates as well as experienced clinicians.
