The primary purpose of the Senior Resident Medical Officer is to provide medical care in conjunction with the various specialists and admitting medical officers for patients in Medicine and other areas within the hospital to secure optimum health outcomes. The role consists of the opportunity to participate in clinical rotations in the Medical Assessment Unit, Haematology, Neurology, Medical Oncology, General Medicine, Respiratory Medicine and Relief.
Successful applicants will also contribute to the hospital's afterhours roster.

Northern Beaches Hospital provides world-class, Level 5 delineation services for both public and private patients. The hospital features 486 beds, 50-bed Emergency Department, 20-bed general and cardiothoracic ICU, 14 fully equipped theatres, including hybrid theatres, two cardiac catheter labs, extensive digital imaging / diagnostic facilities, medical centre collocated with ED, state of the art education and interactive SIM centre and a Helipad for Emergency Transport.
The Northern Beaches Hospital provides a high standard of education and training, with dedicated supervisors, teachers and a JMO Unit that supports all activities related to rostering, training, education and welfare of junior doctors.
On level 4 of the 9-storey hospital is the Education Centre where doctors can access a range of facilities. These include the latest technology for teaching, simulation and presentations, plus various meeting rooms and conference areas.
There is capability to stream education sessions to/from other facilities, as well as within the hospital for the simulation rooms and theatres.
