About the Role
As Media and Social Specialist, you will ensure that icare’s reputation is preserved and enhanced through effective media management. You will plan, coordinate and execute proactive and reactive traditional media activities and initiatives within icare including emerging issues with a continuous improvement mindset. This role is also responsible for delivery of icare’s social media plan, creating relevant and managing a robust content calendar across narrative pillars; providing regular reports and data led insights across traditional and social media to inform future strategy; responding in a timely fashion and triaging online feedback and inquiries; and building engaging campaigns in collaboration with the team.

Duties
It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a Media & Social Specialist you will:
- Support with media and reputation management for icare including development of media strategies and issues management.
- Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders including other government departments and the Minister’s Office.
- Co-ordinate engagement with media, managing sensitive topics and providing timely turnaround on media enquiries.
- Tracking and monitoring activity, including production of the daily news monitoring email and regular media analytics and reporting
- Develop and execute social media strategies to engage and inform stakeholders.
- Continuously improve media and social media monitoring and analytics to provide insights that enhance icare’s stakeholder relations approaches and show shifts in sentiment and trust.
- Produce social media content that resonates with the people of NSW, for use across for various icare digital platforms, to deliver impactful storytelling across channels and narrative pillars
Skills & Experience
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- At least 5 years’ experience in a media relations, public relations and/or social media management
- Proven experience in reactive and proactive media/public relations, ability to craft creative and purpose-driven stories
- Understanding of social media platforms
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Tertiary level qualifications (at degree level) in marketing, communications or a related discipline, or equivalent knowledge and skills acquired through practical experience gained in similar roles
