About the position
The Content and Engagement Officer is responsible for developing, delivering and evaluating high-quality content and engagement initiatives that connect the community with Council’s priorities, services, and programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and manage high-quality content across digital and traditional channels, including Council’s website, social media platforms, newsletters, and campaign collateral, ensuring all communications are accurate, engaging and tailored to target audiences
- Support the design, delivery and evaluation of community engagement initiatives in accordance with Council’s Community Participation Plan, including the preparation of engagement materials, surveys, online consultation platforms, face-to-face engagement activities, and reporting on outcomes
- Provide professional graphic design services to translate complex information into clear, visually engaging and accessible formats for diverse audiences
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of communication and engagement campaigns
- Provide strategic communication and engagement advice to internal stakeholders
- Monitor and evaluate communication and engagement performance using analytics and feedback tools and prepare insights-based reports
About you
- Relevant tertiary qualification or experience in marketing and communications or relevant experience in local government
- Knowledge of community engagement frameworks such as IAP2 principles and experience with content
management systems (CMS) and engagement
- Demonstrated capability in graphic design, video editing, or multimedia content skills
- Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required to support engagement activities
- Current driver’s licence

- Permanent full time, 35 hours per week
- Salary from $83,894 to $90,802 per year (depending on qualifications, skills and experience) plus 12% superannuation
