In this role, you'll:
- Participate as the SME for Contractual matters in a highly skilled team who aim to deliver an updated industry-leading procurement process for NSW passenger service contracts (Bus, Ferry and Light Rail) ensuring safe, reliable, customer-focused and value-for-money transport outcomes.
- Support the implementation of Bus Industry Taskforce reforms by reviewing, replacing and establishing new bus service contracts with operators across NSW.
- Oversee the seamless transition of contracts between operators, developing project plans, governance frameworks and risk management strategies to ensure continuity of services
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with transport operators, government agencies and internal stakeholders to deliver successful contractual and operational outcomes.
- Provide expert advice on contractual matters, contribute to contract negotiations, and ensure compliance with government policy, legislative requirements and procurement frameworks.
- Monitor contract performance, identify emerging risks and trends, and implement strategic solutions to improve service delivery and customer outcomes.
- Lead and oversee the development of new contract documents, including engaging with relevant stakeholders, maintaining knowledge of industry and contract standards, engaging with market and ensuring compliance with government policy, keeping in mind ongoing contract management impacts and requirements.
- Lead and oversee the handover from procurement to operational contract management by engaging closely with operational contract management teams
- Support internal review and approval processes including Budget reviews, Gateway reviews, Steerco endorsements and other required approvals, reviews or phases of engagement.
- Participate in the development of the wider team on matters related to contract management and procurement objectives.

About you
- You have a passion for public transport, with proven expertise in Bus, Ferry or Light Rail Industry service contract delivery and driving outcomes that benefit passengers.
- You are an excellent problem solver and communicator who knows how to deliver value for money.
- You have strong stakeholder management skills and can navigate government processes.
- You have a thorough understanding of relevant statutory and regulatory frameworks.
- You have extensive experience with complex procurement processes and delivering customer outcomes
- You understand the importance of quality contract management, including the transition from procurement to operational contract management, and the value of continuous engagement throughout the contract lifecycle.
