MARLET INTERNATIONAL PTY LTD is seeking an experienced Floor Finisher to join our team in Sydney. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, installing, repairing, sanding, polishing and finishing a variety of flooring surfaces for residential and commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
● Inspecting and preparing floor surfaces prior to installation, repair or finishing work.
● Measuring and assessing work areas to determine materials, tools and preparation requirements.
● Removing old floor coverings, adhesives, damaged flooring materials and surface imperfections.
● Sanding, levelling, grinding and preparing timber, concrete or other flooring surfaces.
● Applying stains, sealants, coatings, varnishes, polish and other floor finishing products.
● Installing, repairing and finishing timber, vinyl, laminate, hybrid and other flooring materials where required.
● Operating sanding machines, polishers, grinders, cutters and other flooring tools and equipment safely.
● Reading and interpreting job specifications, plans and work instructions.
● Ensuring completed flooring work meets client requirements, workplace quality standards and safety regulations.
● Maintaining tools, equipment and a clean, safe work environment.
● Working independently and as part of a team to complete projects within required timeframes.
Required Skills and Experience
Applicants must have:
● At least 12 months of full-time relevant work experience as a Floor Finisher.
● Practical experience in floor preparation, sanding, polishing, installation, repair and finishing.
● Ability to use flooring tools, sanding machines, polishers, grinders and related equipment.
● Good understanding of flooring materials, adhesives, coatings, sealants and finishing methods.
● Ability to read and follow project specifications, work instructions and safety requirements.
● Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
● Ability to work safely, independently and efficiently.
● Good communication skills and ability to work with supervisors, tradespeople and clients.
Relevant trade qualifications will be highly regarded but are not essential where the applicant has sufficient relevant experience.
Pay: $78,000.00 – $86,000.00 per year
