We're now looking for the person who turns our quoting pipeline into won projects and long-term client relationships. This role exists because our capability is ahead of our visibility, and we want someone to close that gap.

YellowX Excavation Solutions (Bluexplus Pty Ltd) is a Melbourne-based civil earthworks contractor. We deliver excavation, bored piers, retention piling, shotcrete walls, capping beams, retaining walls and stormwater drainage for builders and developers across commercial and residential projects. We run our own fleet of six excavators (5t to 35t) and back our field crews with modern, technology-driven estimating and project systems. We're a lean, owner-led business with big ambitions — the person in this role will work directly with the director and have real influence on how the company grows.
About the role
Twelve months in, success looks like this: you own every quote we submit through EstimateOne and referral channels — following up, building rapport with estimators and project managers, and converting quotes into projects. You've built a warm network of repeat builders who call YellowX first, you've helped launch our dry hire offering to market, and monthly revenue has grown measurably because someone is finally working the pipeline every day. You'll be the commercial face of YellowX between projects.
What you'll do
- Own every quote follow-up — chase submitted tenders, handle client questions, and negotiate scope and pricing with support from the director.
- Build relationships with builders, developers and project managers — regular check-ins, site visits, and staying front of mind for their next project.
- Hold technical conversations credibly — discuss piling depths, retention systems, excavation methodology and site constraints with engineers and construction managers.
- Take new revenue streams to market, starting with excavator dry hire to our existing client base.
- Manage the pipeline in our CRM — track every opportunity, follow-up and outcome so nothing slips.
- Feed client feedback and market intelligence back to the director to shape pricing and capability decisions.
What we're looking for
Required:
- Technical background in civil construction, earthworks, geotechnical or a related field — you can read drawings and talk confidently with engineers. This could come from site supervision, estimating, engineering or trade experience.
- Proven experience in B2B sales, account management or client-facing project roles within construction or an allied industry.
- Strong follow-up discipline — persistent without being pushy, organised, and comfortable owning a pipeline.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and a current driver's licence for site and client visits.
Preferred:
- Existing network among Melbourne builders, developers or tier 2/3 head contractors.
- Experience with tender platforms such as EstimateOne.
- Estimating or quoting experience in civil or structural works.
- White Card and general site safety awareness.
Compensation and benefits
- Base salary $100,000–$125,000 + super, depending on experience, plus performance-based commission on won work.
- Vehicle allowance or company vehicle for client and site visits.
- Direct access to the company director — no layers, fast decisions.
- Genuine growth path: as YellowX grows, this role grows into a senior commercial leadership position.
