The Opportunity & How You Will Make an Impact
We're looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Coordinator to join our Finance team in a part-time capacity (22.5 hours per week). In this role, you'll be the key liaison between Urbis, our outsourced payroll providers (The Access Group and Vistra), ensuring payroll processes run accurately, efficiently and on time.

You'll play an important role in supporting our employees by ensuring payroll and related processes are managed seamlessly while contributing to continuous process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating the end-to-end payroll process for fortnightly casual payroll by preparing, reviewing and submitting payroll instructions to our outsourced payroll providers.
- Acting as the primary liaison between employees, Finance, People & Culture, and our external payroll providers to resolve payroll enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Reviewing payroll data to ensure accuracy, integrity and compliance with relevant Awards, legislation and Urbis policies.
- Assisting with payroll-related activities including superannuation, payroll tax, salary packaging, leave management and Employee Self Service (ESS).
- Running payroll reconciliations between payroll and practice management systems to ensure employee leave balances are accurately maintained.
- Preparing employee reports and supporting Finance and People &Culture with payroll-related reporting and analysis.
- Maintaining accurate payroll records and supporting compliance with taxation, superannuation and legislative requirements.
- Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes and contributing to ongoing system and process enhancements.
About You
- 1-2 years' experience in a payroll or payroll administration role, ideally within a small or medium-sized organisation.
- Experience working with Micropay or a similar payroll system.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent numeracy skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- A strong understanding of payroll processes and the importance of confidentiality and compliance.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise effectively with employees and stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience within a professional services environment will be highly regarded.
