As a Registered Nurse in Wollongong Hospital’s Neuroscience Ward, you’ll join a growing and supportive specialist team caring for patients across the full continuum of neuroscience care. Our service comprises a 28-bed Neuroscience Ward and an 8-bed Neuro High Intensity Nursing Unit (NHINU), providing a unique opportunity to develop a broad and highly specialised skill set across both medical neurology and neurosurgical care.
As the successful candidate, you’ll work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team, providing evidence-based care for patients with complex neurological conditions while developing advanced clinical skills across hyperacute stroke assessment, thrombolysis, specialist stroke care, epilepsy, movement disorders, acute neurology and complex post-operative neurosurgical management. You’ll gain experience caring for patients with varying levels of acuity, strengthening your clinical assessment, critical thinking and decision-making skills within a high-acuity neuroscience environment.

Wollongong Hospital is the Illawarra Shoalhaven’s major referral and teaching hospital and has a bed-base count of more than 500. The campus, which incorporates the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.
