Cafs is seeking an accomplished, values-led Manager People & Engagement to join our senior leadership team at a pivotal point in the organisation’s workforce evolution, supporting the people who deliver services for children, young people, families and communities.
This is a highly visible management role, translating executive workforce strategy into practical operational priorities, service standards and ways of working, and providing operational insights and reporting that support decision-making.
You will lead and oversee a multidisciplinary People & Engagement function and provide high quality operational leadership, advice and support across:
- Organisational culture and engagement
- Workforce capability, attraction and retention
- Inclusion and diversity
- Leadership development and learning
- Industrial relations and employment frameworks
- Business partnering
- Employee wellbeing, safety and compliance
- Demonstrated history building high-performing teams and leading change in a values-led, inclusive and outcomes-focused way
- Strong operational and commercial acumen with experience leading workforce and people services in complex organisations
- Management experience in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or related disciplines
- Experience implementing people frameworks and service models that support performance and sustainability
- Proven ability to improve service delivery models, systems and organisation-wide practices
- Strong understanding of workforce systems, risk and compliance
- Practical, evidence-informed leadership style with sound judgement
- Collaborative leadership approach aligned to Cafs values
- Tertiary qualification in HR, Business or related field (AHRI desirable)
Cafs (Child and Family Services Ballarat) is an independent community service organisation based in Ballarat for over 160 years. We deliver more than 50 programs supporting children, young people, families and communities across the Central Highlands.
