About the role
We have a vacancy for a full-time Systems Administrator positionto join our team in Griffith NSW.
As a Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, monitoring, and continuous improvement of client and internal ICT systems.
You will work with both cloud and on-premises environments, ensuring systems remain secure, available, performant, and aligned with business requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesSystems Administration
- Install, configure, maintain, and support server operating systems and infrastructure.
- Administer Microsoft Windows Server environments.
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and identity services.
- Monitor system performance, capacity, availability, and security.
- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Perform system upgrades, patch management, and lifecycle maintenance.
Cloud Services
- Administer Microsoft 365 environments.
- Manage Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
- Support Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
- Assist with cloud migrations and hybrid cloud deployments.
- Implement and maintain cloud security controls.
Infrastructure & Networking
- Support the network environment (firewalls, switches, wireless, VPN) that underlies the server and infrastructure platforms
- Assist with network troubleshooting and performance optimisation.
- Maintain infrastructure documentation and network diagrams.
Cybersecurity
- Support cybersecurity monitoring and incident response activities.
- Implement security best practices and system hardening.
- Manage endpoint protection, vulnerability remediation, and access controls.
- Assist with compliance and security audits.
Service Delivery
- Provide senior-level technical resolution for complex server, identity and infrastructure incidents, including escalations from junior support staff.
- Participate in project implementation activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation and technical records.
- Provide exceptional customer service and technical guidance.
Requirements
As a key member of out team it is essential that you are well presented and possess excellent interpersonal and communications skills, along with a technically strong skill set.
Essential
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a Systems Administrator or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Microsoft Windows Server
- Active Directory & Azure
- Microsoft 365
- Virtualisation technologies (Hyper-V and/or Proxmox)
- Networking fundamentals
- Backup and disaster recovery systems
- Experience with:
- Microsoft Entra ID
- VPN technologies
- Cybersecurity controls
- Remote management tools
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- You are quick at learning and love tackling technical challenges.
- Certifications:
- Microsoft Azure Fundamentals
- MikroTik Certified (MTCNA)
Desirable
In addition, it would be a distinct advantage if you have had experience in any the following:
- RedHat (or similar) Linux;
- Microsoft 365 administration;
- Have worked for a Managed Service Provider;
- Virtualisation technologies.
- Desirable Certifications:
- Juniper OS Certified
- RedHat RHEL Fundamentals
Other Mandatory Requirements
- As there are site visits involved in this role, a current Australian Driver's License is an essential requirement.
