About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Shift Technician to join our team at our Horsley Park facility.
This is a full-time, permanent position reporting to the Maintenance Manager.
You will take a hands-on role in fault finding, breakdown response, and preventative maintenance-ensuring our high-speed production equipment runs reliably and efficiently.
You will work closely with production teams and contractors to support safe, efficient, and high-quality operations in a fast-paced FMCG environment.
Work Pattern (Rotating Roster)
This role operates on a structured rotating 12-hour shift pattern across day and night shifts, including:
- 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Day Shift)
- 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM (Night Shift)
- A consistent rotating roster
You must be able to commit to working across both day and night shifts as part of this rotation.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Operations
- Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime
- Deliver planned and preventative maintenance across the site
- Maintain maintenance systems including work orders and schedules
- Monitor equipment performance and identify improvement opportunities
- Work closely with production teams to support reliable operations
Technical & Continuous Improvement
- Diagnose faults across mechanical and electrical systems (PLC, pneumatics, hydraulics)
- Drive continuous improvement to optimise plant performance
- Support operators with technical guidance to improve equipment use
Contractor Coordination
- Supervise and coordinate contractors, ensuring safe and compliant work practices
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Promote a strong safety culture and adhere to WHS requirements
- Ensure all work meets food safety and quality standards (HACCP & GMP)
- Identify and address unsafe conditions
- Participate in incident investigations and reporting
About You
- Trade-qualified in a relevant discipline
- Electrical licence preferred
- Strong electrical fault-finding experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment is essential
- Proven experience in a fast-paced production environment (ideally FMCG or similar)
- Experience with PLCs, pneumatics, and hydraulics
- Strong experience in preventative and scheduled maintenance systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and respond under pressure
- Strong collaboration skills with production teams and contractors
- Committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
