Job Summary:
At myprosperity, we're looking for a highly capable Squad Lead to drive the successful delivery of software initiatives within a cross-functional squad. This is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for coordinating delivery across engineering, testing, and business analysis functions while actively contributing to development.
As the Squad Lead, you will own squad delivery outcomes, provide technical leadership, and ensure high engineering standards across modern cloud-native applications. Working closely with Delivery Managers, Architects, Engineers, Testers, and Product stakeholders, you will help shape solutions, remove delivery impediments, and build scalable, high-quality software using modern technologies including .NET, React, AWS, and microservices architecture.
This role is ideal for a senior engineer or technical lead who enjoys balancing software development, technical decision-making, and delivery ownership without direct people management responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day delivery of work across a cross-functional squad, ensuring commitments are met on time and to a high standard.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage the flow of work across engineers, testers, and business analysts.
- Break down complex initiatives into well-defined and executable work items.
- Identify, manage, and escalate delivery risks, blockers, and dependencies.
- Foster a high-performing, accountable, and collaborative squad culture.
- Actively contribute to software development across backend and frontend applications.
- Develop and maintain backend services using C# and modern .NET technologies.
- Contribute to frontend development using React, Next.js, and evolving web component architectures.
- Provide technical guidance and support decision-making across the squad.
- Ensure adherence to engineering standards, coding practices, and architectural principles.
- Lead by example through the delivery of high-quality, maintainable, and scalable solutions.
- Support development and enhancement of both legacy platforms and modern cloud-native applications.
- Contribute to solution design and architecture for AWS-based microservices platforms.
- Drive best practices for scalability, reliability, performance, and observability.
- Design and implement secure, reliable, and scalable APIs and system integrations.
- Establish best practices for API versioning, contract design, error handling, and integration patterns.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver effective integration solutions.
- Champion quality-first engineering practices across the squad.
- Drive automated testing adoption, code review standards, and CI/CD best practices.
- Partner with QA to improve test coverage, quality, and release confidence.
- Promote monitoring, supportability, and operational excellence across applications and services.
- Support the adoption of AI-assisted development tools to improve delivery outcomes.
- Leverage AI-enabled practices to enhance development productivity, code quality, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
- Coach and mentor engineers within the squad, supporting capability uplift and continuous learning.
- Foster collaboration and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer, Technical Lead, Engineering Lead, or Squad Lead within Agile delivery teams.
- Strong hands-on software development experience using C# and modern .NET technologies (.NET 6–10).
- Demonstrated experience designing and building microservices architectures.
- Experience working in AWS cloud environments.
- Strong understanding of software delivery practices and agile methodologies.
- Experience leading technical delivery within cross-functional squads.
- C# and .NET development.
- Microservices and distributed systems architecture.
- RESTful APIs and integration design.
- AWS services and cloud-native development.
- React and/or Next.js frontend development.
- CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Automated testing and quality engineering practices.
- Monitoring, observability, and operational excellence.
- Exposure to Web Components architectures.
- Experience with event-driven systems and integrations.
- Experience with API Gateway technologies such as Apigee X.
- Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Kiro, or similar platforms.
