As Assistant Under Treasurer, Economic Strategy & Home Ownership, you will influence major government decisions, drive economic reform and provide strategic advice on the issues that matter most to Queensland's growth and prosperity. This is a rare opportunity for you to combine executive leadership, policy influence and meaningful public impact while leading one of Queensland Treasury's most influential functions.
In this role, you will:
Lead economic strategy and policy reform
- Shape Queensland's economic strategy, productivity and reform agenda.
- Provide trusted advice that informs significant government policy and fiscal decisions.
Drive executive stakeholder engagement
- Build influential relationships with senior government leaders and key external partners.
- Represent Treasury as a trusted adviser on complex economic and strategic issues.
Lead people and organisational performance
- Lead and inspire a high-performing team of economists and policy professionals.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation and delivery focused on achieving meaningful outcomes.
Deliver outcomes that matter
- Set the strategic direction of a function critical to Queensland's economic future.
- Drive impactful outcomes that support government priorities and benefit Queenslanders.
What experience you will bring:
Executive leadership and people management: You are an accomplished executive leader with a proven ability to build high-performing teams, create positive workplace cultures and drive sustainable organisational performance.
Economic policy and strategic thinking: You bring significant experience shaping economic policy, strategy or reform agendas, with the ability to provide insightful advice that influences complex government decisions
Influencing and stakeholder engagement: You are a trusted adviser who can build credibility quickly, navigate competing interests and influence senior stakeholders through clear, pragmatic and outcome-focused advice.
Resilience and delivery in complex environment: You thrive in fast-paced and politically sensitive environments, demonstrating sound judgement, adaptability and a strong focus on delivering meaningful results.
Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, relevant qualifications will be highly regarded.
