The Role
The Mechanical Engineering Technician will support the installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and optimisation of plumbing, hydraulic, water reticulation, and mechanical fluid transfer systems across a diverse range of projects.
Working closely with plumbers, project managers, supervisors, and clients, you will help ensure systems operate efficiently, safely, and in accordance with Australian Standards and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist with the installation, testing, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of hydraulic and mechanical systems.
· Conduct fault-finding, troubleshooting, and performance assessments of pumps, valves, pipework, water reticulation systems, and associated equipment.
· Support commissioning and operational verification of hydraulic and mechanical infrastructure.
· Monitor system performance and analyse operational data to identify efficiency improvements.
· Assist with technical inspections, site investigations, and project coordination activities.
· Prepare technical reports, commissioning documentation, maintenance records, and system performance assessments.
· Ensure compliance with WHS requirements, engineering specifications, and relevant Australian Standards.
· Liaise with engineers, contractors, suppliers, and clients regarding technical and operational matters.
· Support the development and implementation of maintenance procedures and asset management strategies.
· Provide onsite technical support during project delivery and maintenance operations.
Skills & Experience
- Certificate IV, Diploma, or relevant Mechanical Engineering qualification
- Minimum 2–3 years experience in plumbing, hydraulic services, or mechanical services
- Understanding of commercial and residential plumbing systems
- Ability to read technical drawings and plans
- Knowledge of pumps, water systems, drainage, and mechanical equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- White Card required
- Driver’s licence preferred

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
