This role is pivotal in ensuring that our operations run smoothly every day by maintaining and repairing the equipment that is critical to our work. The primary focus will be on keeping our equipment in optimal condition, performing regular maintenance and executing timely repairs.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, service and repair small plant equipment such as ride on mowers, push mowers, brush cutters, chain saws, blowers, hedgers, atom edgers, chemical spray packs, power tools and more.
- Maintain and service tractors and trailers.
- Diagnose and repair problems with equipment, including proper testing procedures, teardown & rebuild with genuine parts replacement.
- Complete preventive maintenance of equipment, vehicles and trailers.
- Diagnose and repair problems in fuel, electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems of equipment.
- Perform some onsite/mobile servicing as required
- Undertake welding for repairs
- Purchase equipment related parts and supplies from approved suppliers
You are a Trade Certified Mechanic with recent experience maintaining and repairing small plant equipment as well as larger machinery and vehicles.
You hold a current Manual driver's licence and have proven ability to safely tow and manoeuvre a trailer. Your recent experience providing landscape equipment repairs and preventative maintenance will be highly regarded.
You have proven ability to troubleshoot and problem solve mechanical issues, and your diesel engine experience will be looked upon favourably.
Your attention to details lends itself to accurately manage parts and service inventory and you are able to prioritise work requests to ensure minimal down time of key pieces or plant and equipment.
You put safety first in all that you do and pride yourself on maintaining an organised, clean and safe workshop and have a clear focus on using all tools and equipment safely and effectively
You have a current National Police Check (or willing to obtain) and drivers licence.
