About Crommelin
Crommelin is an Australian-owned manufacturer of premium waterproofing membranes, concrete and stone sealers, paints and specialty coatings. Based in Welshpool, Western Australia, we manufacture quality products used across the building, construction and decorative industries.
We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Manufacturing Operator to join our production team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop specialist manufacturing skills and build a long-term career in the coatings industry. The successful candidate will receive hands-on training from our Senior Paint Maker, who has over 25 years of experience in paint manufacturing.
We are looking for the right person with a strong work ethic, attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
About the Role
Working as part of our production team, you will be responsible for safely manufacturing high-quality paint and coating products by following documented procedures and working closely with experienced team members.
Your responsibilities will include:
Manufacturing & Production
- Accurately measure, weigh and add raw materials according to batch sheets and manufacturing procedures.
- Operate manufacturing equipment including mixers, dispersers and other production machinery.
- Assist with blending, mixing and processing of paints, sealers and specialty coatings.
- Monitor production processes to ensure products meet quality requirements.
- Complete production records and documentation accurately.
- Ensure batches are correctly identified and tracked throughout the manufacturing process.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe production area.
Quality & Safety
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
- Safely handle raw materials and chemicals in accordance with company requirements.
- Perform tasks carefully and accurately to ensure consistent product quality.
- Report any production, equipment or quality issues to the appropriate team member.
- Participate in training and continuous improvement activities.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is reliable, punctual and takes pride in their work.
- Enjoys hands-on, practical work.
- Has good attention to detail and can follow instructions accurately.
- Is comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
- Has basic maths skills and confidence using measurement equipment.
- Can work independently as well as part of a team.
- Has a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
A background in manufacturing, production, warehousing, food processing, chemical processing or similar environments would be highly regarded.
Previous paint or coatings experience is an advantage but not essential — full training will be provided for the right candidate.
A current forklift licence is required.
