About the role
Trevi Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Contract Manager to join our team on a contract basis for the TWJV Project. This role is fundamental to ensuring the successful delivery of construction projects whilst maintaining compliance with contractual obligations and maximising value for the organisation. The Contract Manager will lead all contractual and commercial activities for the TWJV Project, ensuring the project's contractual rights and commercial interests are protected. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project contracts, from initiation through to completion, and will act as a crucial link between the project team, clients, and stakeholders. This position is based in Lihir, Papua New Guinea and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on project outcomes and business relationships.
Mission
To ensure the proper conduct of the preparation, negotiation, and formulation of contracts and the management of these throughout the contract, mitigating the risk of potential disputes and/or consequences arising from particular contractual terms.
Main responsibilities
- Administer and manage the contract with our client.
- Monitor contract compliance and advise the project manager and on contractual obligations and risks.
- Identify and highlight critical contractual issues, risks, opportunities, and commercial exposures.
- Lead the management of variations, change orders, and extension of time (EOT) submissions.
- Prepare, assess, and negotiate claims relating to delays, disruptions, scope changes, and additional costs.
- Ensure contractual notices and correspondence are issued in accordance with contract requirements.
- Maintain contract registers, claims logs, and commercial reporting systems.
- Lead commercial negotiations and act as the primary commercial interface with our client.
- Support project forecasting, cost management, and commercial reporting.
- Assist in dispute avoidance and resolution, coordinating with legal advisors when required.
- Drive the successful negotiation and settlement of final accounts.
- Complying with and promoting the Code of Ethics, procedures, and safety standards, in compliance with current legislation
Main Hard Skills

3. Knowledge of techniques for preparing contractual documentation
4. Knowledge of policies and procedures in the professional area of reference
5. Understanding of organisational system processes

8. Knowledge of the latest technical updates in the professional area of reference
Qualifications & Experience
1. Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Law, Commerce, or a related discipline.
2. Minimum 10 years' experience in contract and commercial management on major mining, construction, or infrastructure projects.
3. Demonstrated experience in claims management, contract administration, and commercial negotiations.
4. Strong knowledge of construction and mining contract frameworks.
5. Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
